Tag: My 7 Vanity Sense Facts
Thanks, Shireen for this tag. I took the Vanity Quiz and here is the result. It is actually a bit difficult for me to come up with any beauty tips at all, because I have NONE, ZERO! haha!! This tag would have been easy if I were to do it 8 years ago. So instead of giving tips, I will list down my horrible non existent beauty regime instead.
| You Are 26% Vain |
![]() Okay, so you’re slightly vain from time to time, but you’re not superficial at all. You are realistic. You know that looks matter. You just try to make them matter less. |

I use Dove foaming cleanser every morning. Most of the time, I don’t bother to apply moisturiser (I know I should). I only apply Nivea moisturiser when I need to go out. Talk about being lazy! |
| 2. |
I don’t go for facials, never been a fan. Once in a blue, blue moon, I’d apply face mask – the last time I did that was probably 2 years ago?? |
| 3. |
Eyebrow pencil is my ONLY utmost MUST have item these days. I never go shopping or jalan-jalan without “filling in” my eyebrows. I don’t shape them, too lazy. The last time I shaped them was maybe 2 years ago! |

I love doing my own manicure and pedicure. However, ever since having my little girl, I prefer not to keep long nails as they tend to break easily when I handle her. I only paint my nails on special outings such as attending dinners. Otherwise, I prefer not to paint them because the thought of nail varnish getting in contact with the food I prepare at home bothers me. I have never tried putting on fake nails yet as I don’t see the need for them now but in future when I have the time, who knows. |

I like to wear dresses and skirts to hide my tree trunk thighs and also because if I wear pants, the inner thighs tend to rub together when I walk, thus making an embarassing sound! |

I shampoo my hair at least once every two days and always use hair conditioner after that. A cheap method to make my hair soft and smooth is to apply hair conditioner and put on a shower cap. Leave it like that for at least 15 minutes before rinsing. Then blow dry immediately (does not need combing while blowing). Hair will be silky soft and smooth! But of course the last time I did that was 2 years ago! |

Because I hardly wear makeup these days, I dye my hair in brown to add a bit of radiance to my otherwise dull face (except during pregnancy when I made sure I don’t dye it). |
I’d like to KPC on these following gorgeous mommies’ beauty regimes:
Anna of Family, Friends & Food
Gene Lim of Life As A Married Woman
Blur Mummy of Random Thoughts of A Blur Mummy
Milkmaid of New Mum On The Block
So, is everyone surprised and disgusted at my lack of self pampering yet? Sounds cheapskate yet? Haha, actually I did have a beauty regime using Clinique, SKII, etc products but that was many moons ago. I just can’t seem to set aside 5 minutes to put on creams and so on for now. Maybe when the little one grows older, I will indulge myself to vanity again. Would you believe me if I tell you that back in KL, I would never go to work or jalan-jalan without applying my full makeup ie eyeliner, lipstick/lipgloss, blusher, eyebrow pencil, eye shadow, powdered foundation, mascara, sheer stockings, manicured fingernails + painted toenails, straight, shiny + frizz free hair (I wore all kinds of hair accessories and costume jewelleries too) and perfume! I am now the complete opposite! Goodness gracious, I am thankful that my husband still looks at me these days!
Frankly speaking, I think every woman should take pleasure and initiative to groom themselves especially married women. And you betcha I’m not gonna let myself stay haggard like this forever. I’ll get back on track … SOMEDAY, hopefully!

Tks very much 4 doing this tag. You know, i am quite like you from points 1-4, though I use Johnson’s face wash. Eversince my 2 brats came along, i hardly ever pamper myself. BUt i’ll definitely make a foray back to my strict beauty regime when my gals dont need so much of my attention few years down the road.
hehee … will do it. sounds fun.
hahhaa! I’m suing dove too!
But I think u should apply moisturiser.. the weather there ver dry and not good on our types of skins.
When I gave up my job in 1995, I stopped using proper facial care and make up unless I was going out. Then when we moved to UK in 1999, everything was so expensive that I only used Oil of Olay as my facial cream. 3 years ago, I started to notice how my skin has changed and aged.
My mum and sister insisted that I should get back to caring for myself. Having said that and spending £££ on top of the range products, my husband alerted me to a new product by Boots (1/2 the price) tested by a scientist on Horizon. After only using the cream for 3 days, I noticed that my dry spots and angry red spots have disappeared. I hope within 4 weeks (as advertised), noticeable changes will testify that not all cheap products are bad and not all expensive products are good.
Do care for your skin as you can never go back in time I made my mistake and I hope you don’t make the same mistake as me.
Errrr… I also have 0 beauty tip leh…how ar???? : P ok will think abt it & see if I can come up with any..hehehe…..Oh, I just tag u from my food blog. Not sure if u’ve done it or not. Pls ignore it if u are not free, ya : )
